There’s been no indication as to what form the investigation is taking and what officers are looking for in connection with the blaze.
Fire crews from Hollins and Chadderton were called to a complex of supported living flats in Failsworth at around 9.30pm.
Reports say they blaze was contained to just one of the flats and there have been no reports of any injuries, however residents of the four other flats were evacuated as a precaution.
It’s understood the person in the flat which caught fire left the scene.
