Man slashed during attack in Tameside

It's understood the victim suffered slash wounds to his back
A man has been rushed to hospital for treatment after being attacked and slashed in the back on a Tameside street.
It was at around 2.11pm on Tuesday (18th June) when police responded to reports that a man had been stabbed on Stamford Street Central in Ashton.
However, it turns out the victim hadn’t been stabbed but suffered slash wounds to the back.
He was taken to hospital for treatment.
Officers are now searching for one man who is understood to have fled the scene on foot.
