Man arrested after teenager is slashed in Tameside

Police investigating an attack in Tameside which saw a teenager slashed in the back on Tuesday afternoon say they’ve arrested a man in connection with the incident.
The boy was attacked on Stamford Street Central in Ashton just after 2pm on Tuesday (18th June) and left with slash wounds to his back.
He was taken to hospital for treatment.
A 27-year old man has now been arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault, he remains in custody for questioning.
Greater Manchester Police have confirmed they are still investigating the incident and are appealing for anyone who witnessed it or has information about what happened to contact them.
