Flood alerts remain in place across Oldham
A flood alert remains in place for parts of Oldham after heavy rainfall over the weekend.
Heavy downpours throughout Saturday night and all of Sunday caused chaos across Greater Manchester - with weather and flood warnings issued by the Met Office and Environment Agency.
River levels are still expected to rise, even as the rain eases off throughout Monday.
The Environment Agency is warning that low-lying land, roads and farmland are all liable to flood over the next 24 hours.
They say their incident response staff are closely monitoring weather forecasts and river levels.
They're urging people to be aware of their surroundings and to keep up to date with the current situation.
A flood alert are in place for the Upper River Irwell catchment area.
What should I do if my home is at risk of flooding?
The Environment Agency has issued a flood alert for parts of Oldham after this weekend's heavy rainfall.
The first level of warning is a flood alert - that's what is currently in place for parts of Oldham around the River Irwell.
That means you should prepare a bag of supplies, including food, water, medicines and insurance documents.
Stay prepared for the situation to change and keep checking flood warning information.
The second level is a flood warning.
The Environment Agency has NOT issued that warning for any parts of the town as it stands.
If there is a flood warning, that's the point at which residents are advised to act - by turning off gas, water and electricity supplies and moving valuables upstairs or to safety.
They also advise moving family, pets and cars to safety.
If the third level - a severe flood warning - is issued, the Environment Agency advises following advice from emergency services.
People who live in areas liable to flooding are urged to keep a bag of essential items to take with you if you have to leave your home - and to keep that in a safe place.
That should include things like spare medication, glasses, clothes, important documents and contact details of your insurance company.
