Body of a man found in canal in Rochdale

Police were called to reports that a body had been found in water near to Deeplish Road in Rochdale yesterday (Wednesday 7th August 2019).
Officers attended the scene and found a body of man believed to be in his 50's- in the stretch of water where the canal passes under Dicken Green Lane.
There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death and a file will be passed to the coroner.
The towpath was cordoned off yesterday from Dicken Green Lane to Digby Road.
