Two people in custody after attempted robbery in Failsworth

Two people are in custody after attempting to steal a woman’s handbag in Failsworth.
At around 7.25pm on Saturday 10th August 2019, police were called to reports of an attempted robbery on Jackson Street.
A 75-year-old woman had got off a bus and was walking home when she was pushed to the floor by a girl who then tried to steal her handbag before a member of the public came to help.
Thankfully the woman wasn’t injured but was left shaken by the attack.
A 15-year-old girl and an 18-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery and remain in custody for questioning.
Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to get in touch as soon as possible.
