Record fundraising total at Rochdale charity golf day

Date published: 18 September 2019

Heywood-based Logic Wealth Planning scored a record fundraising total at their annual charity golf day in early September, raising vital funds for Springhill Hospice in Rochdale.

The event took place at Rossendale Golf Club in the heart of the Lancashire countryside. Fourteen teams of players took part, made up of company staff, clients and friends.

It was Logic Wealth Planning’s fourth annual golf day in support of the work done by the dedicated people at Springhill.

The hospice is a 16 bed purpose-built facility offering specialist palliative care to patients and their families, from diagnosis to end-of-life. It costs around £3m each year to run all of the hospice’s services.

Logic Wealth Planning raised money from golf team fees, a raffle and an auction. A generous donation from Barclays Bank boosted the total on the day to an impressive £5,000.

One of the teams included well-known sports personalities Chris Schofield (cricket) and Ronnie Whelan (football) who support events around the country.

Yianni Theodorou, Managing Director, was delighted to see the event go from strength to strength.
He said, “The day was a massive success for us and the Hospice. Despite the awful weather everyone enjoyed themselves and we exceeded our fundraising target.

“Rossendale Golf Club once again did us proud with great service, comfortable facilities and excellent food in the evening.

“Our staff have visited Springhill Hospice many times and understand what it takes to keep this amazing facility running. We are delighted to help in any way we can.

Sophie Ansley, Corporate and Partnerships Fundraiser at Springhill Hospice, attended the golf day and is delighted by the growing partnership.

She said, “Another fantastic event organised and hosted by the wonderful team at Logic Wealth Planning.

“Every year their event grows in attendance and in funds raised for the Hospice and everyone at Springhill Hospice is so grateful for the support we receive from them.

“Here’s to many more successful fundraising years.”
