Fire training exercise in Oldham this weekend

There's a training exercise on Vale Drive, Oldham
Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service is reassuring residents ahead of a training exercise taking place over the weekend on Vale Drive, Oldham.
Residents should not to be alarmed if they see the presence of emergency services and smoke near the First Choice Homes Oldham building, Summervale House in Oldham on Saturday 7 December between 11am and 2pm.
The GMFRS exercise will involve simulating a real fire in an empty flat by using synthetic smoke and practicing evacuation techniques with volunteers acting as residents.
Those visiting the area on Saturday should be aware that synthetic smoke may be visible from Manchester Street, the Oldham tram line and the nearby area.
