Police are investigating after a man dies in a crash
A man has died following a collision in Oldham.
At around 8.15pm on Friday 20 December 2019, police were called to reports of a collision involving three vehicles on Oldham Way.
Officers attended and found that a Mercedes C Class had collided with a Mercedes CLA, a Vauxhall Insignia and a traffic light.
Despite paramedics’ best efforts, a 53-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
It is believed he may have had a medical episode prior to the collision.
A section of the A62 was closed for two hours but has now been reopened.
The man’s next of kin has been informed and specialist officers are supporting them.
No one has been arrested.
Constable Karl Horner, of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Our thoughts are with all involved and the victim’s family at this sad time.
“The driver may have had a medical episode prior to the collision but an investigation has been launched to help us establish the full circumstances.
