Will it be a white Christmas in Oldham?

Date published: 25 December 2019

One of the burning questions of the festive period is will Christmas Day see picturesque snow-covered scenery?

The Oldham Evening Chronicle contacted Bonnie Diamond from the Met Office who gave us an insight into exactly what Oldhamers should expect weather-wise, whilst tucking into their pigs in blankets.

Bonnie said, “The temperatures are looking to be a little bit colder, but it is looking to be dry on Christmas day- there could be some frost but because it’s dry, we aren’t likely to see any snow falling in the Manchester area.

“If temperatures are cold that can lead to ice and frost in places that can be slippy on foot and if you’re travelling. Do take care whilst temperatures are cold, and these hazards do arrive.”

According to the Met Office, the last widespread white Christmas in the UK was back in 2010.
