New comic play coming to Lyceum Theatre Oldham based in New York
Date published: 09 January 2020
The play comes to the Coliseum from the 31st January - 8th February
Lyceum Theatre Oldham's 2019-20 Season takes you round the world and this month they're stopping off in New York for The Prisoner of Second Avenue, one of Neil Simon's fantastic comic plays, from 31st January - 8th February.
Perhaps more relevant today than it was when it was written 45 years ago, Mel is having a breakdown. We see him lose his job during economic crisis, deal with noisy neighbours and a burglary.
The unexpected heatwave sends Mel literally into meltdown- It's a perfect setting for Simon's acerbic wit and scathing one-liners.
Directed by Lyceum favourite Phil McCarthy, the six-strong cast includes Lyceum regulars and new faces, promising to make this the perfect antidote to your winter blues!
The Prisoner of Second Avenue runs from 31st January - 8 February 2020 at 7.30pm (no performance Sunday 2nd February).
Tickets are £9 each.
