Man dies after being hit by a tram in Oldham

Shaw Metrolink stop
The incident happened near to the Shaw and Crompton Metrolink stop just before 6am this morning (17th January).
Emergency services attended and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
An investigation is currently taking place- a section of the Rochdale via Oldham line is blocked.
There are no tram services running between Oldham Mumps and Rochdale Town Centre- this is also affecting lines into Manchester City Centre.
Due to an ongoing Police Incident at Shaw and Crompton services on the East Didsbury Line are operating as follows: East Didsbury to Oldham Mumps and East Didsbury to Deansgate Castlefield on an alternating 6 minute frequency.
