The necklace that the couple hope to find
A heartbroken young couple from Chadderton are appealing for help finding a necklace, with their baby son's ashes in it.
Danielle Doswell O'Rouke, who is 28, and her partner James Barker, who is 29, were shopping in Oldham Town Centre on Saturday 18th January, when they think they lost the jewellery.
Danielle told The Oldham Evening Chronicle:"It's very distressing and traumatic for us to lose this necklace.
"It feels like a piece of our son is missing.
"We can buy a necklace back, but we can't buy our son back."
The couple's son James was born prematurely on April 4th, 2016.
He lived for nine days, before passing away.
His memory lived on in the couple's hearts, but they also kept the necklace as a vital keepsake.
James, his father, was wearing the jewellery around his neck on Saturday, when it went missing.
It has a cross, with a loop on the back of it, containing the baby's ashes.
Danielle says she's hopeful that someone might have picked it up and they'll get it back: "There might be someone elderly or who isn't on social media, reading this, who can help us.
"The necklace isn't worth much in terms of money, but it's absolutely priceless to us."
The couple have also posted their story on Facebook, which has been shared widely.
If anyone does find the necklace (pictured), they're asked to email The Chronicle on news@oldham-chronicle.co.uk. and we will put them in touch with Danielle and James.
