A wanted man was arrested after being safely brought down from a roof by officers in Manchester city centre.
Police responded shortly after 4.45pm yesterday (Monday) after the man was sighted by officers.
Specialist police negotiators were able to safely conclude the incident and a man, aged 34, was arrested on suspicion of failing to appear at court to face a charge of going equipped to steal a motor vehicle.
Inspector Sean O’Connor of GMP’s City of Manchester Division said: “We appreciate this incident caused a degree of disruption last night.
“Road closures were necessary in order for the incident to come to a safe conclusion, and we thank those affected for their patience while we dealt with this.”
