Detectives charge an eighth person following Charlie Elms death

Detectives have charged an eighth person following the death of Charlie Elms in Limeside in May.
Joshua Newport (aged 23), of no fixed abode, has been charged with one count of violent disorder and one count of kidnap.
The charge of kidnap is unrelated to fatal stabbing of Mr Elms.
Newport has been remanded into custody ahead of an appearance at Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court today (Monday).
Police were called shortly after 5.05pm on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 to a report of a disturbance involving a group of men causing damage to a property on Fifth Avenue.
During the disturbance, 25-year-old Mr Elms was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene.
