A man has been charged in connection with an incident which saw a security guard stabbed multiple times in Middleton.
Luke McSharry (aged 19), of Weavers Road in Middleton, has been charged with section 18 assault and possession of an offensive weapon.
He has been remanded to appear before Manchester Magistrates Court today (Thursday).
This relates to reports of a stabbing at around 12.50pm on Saturday, August 14 at Middleton shopping centre, where the victim was working as a security guard when he suffered five serious stab wounds.
Officers from GMP Rochdale, with support from Derbyshire Police, arrested the suspect in woodland in Glossop after extensive enquiries by detectives in Rochdale CID.
