The Group will comprise of 12 people who live or work in Oldham who will get together to consider themes relating to its programmes, its building, what the theatre means or could mean to them, and how the Coliseum can make their work more inclusive and accessible.

A spokesperson for the theatre said: "The Community Steering Group will meet six times per year to explore a range of topics which will be shared in advance. The first two meetings will be held digitally over Zoom.

"Whilst the theatre always strives to evaluate and evolve, as the Coliseum embarks on a new and interesting phase in its development, its teams have some big questions. "

The first meeting is planned for Wednesday 26 January from 6.30pm – 8pm and will explore how the Coliseum reflects and can better reflect its local communities.

The Community Steering Group is open to anyone 18+ who lives or works in Oldham.

The theatre aims to bring together people from a diverse range of backgrounds, with different ages and experiences.
