New apprenticeship scheme looking for young people in the Oldham area.
Date published: 09 March 2022

C&C Vehicle Services have announced their apprenticeship scheme in Oldham.
One of the UK’s largest providers of commercial vehicle repair and refurbishment services, C&C Vehicle Services have launched an apprenticeship scheme for 16 - 18 year olds within the Oldham area.
With five sites across the UK, C&C Vehicle Services have announced paid apprenticeship positions at their Oldham and Wolverhampton sites with training provided by partners, Remit who have a state-of-the-art training academy in Derby.
“We’re proud to be able to offer these positions to the next generation of technicians. The motor industry nationwide is currently being crippled by staff shortages.
"We’re lucky at C&C to have a sizeable, competent and hardworking team, and we want to support the motor industry by helping train and support the future of the industry” said Mark Newnes, Managing Director at C&C Services.
“This apprenticeship scheme can really help young people find a passion and nurture their talent, while earning wages that are above the national minimum apprentice wage.
"This opportunity can open a door to a fruitful career within the industry and hopefully within C&C.”
The unemployment rates in Oldham are currently above the national average.
This opportunity will allow young people to learn new skills while earning and creates a stepping-stone into a career within the ever-growing motor industry.
The scheme is available to 16 to 18 year olds who have GCSE’s or functional skills at Level 2 in maths and English.
The three year Level 3 apprenticeship will help those involved to develop expert working knowledge of the repair and replacement of vehicle body panels using a number of manufacturer and industry recognised techniques.
Attendees will undertake a 12-week training programme in Derby, in addition to hands on site training provided by an experienced mentor in the C&C Oldham Bodyshop.
C&C Vehicle Services are offering wages above the national minimum apprentice wage, holidays, a pension scheme, life insurance and access to services focused on providing support for your medical, mental, legal and financial wellbeing. C&C will also help those training, to purchase their own tools to begin their career.
