Date published: 13 July 2022

A further arrest has been made as part of a murder inquiry after a man was found dead in Mossley earlier this month.

Thomas Campbell, who was 38, was found dead at an address on Riverside in Mossley at around 10.30am on Sunday, July 3.

Despite the best efforts of emergency services, he was pronounced dead at the scene and a murder investigation being led by detectives from GMP’s Major Incident Team continues.

A 38-year-old woman was arrested this morning (Wednesday) on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.

She remains in custody at this time for questioning.

Stephen Cleworth (37), of Charles Street, Heywood, has previously been charged with conspiracy to commit murder.

He will next appear on August 15 at Manchester Crown Court.

The investigation continues and anyone with information is urged to do the right thing and report it.

This can be done anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, or as always, information can be passed to us by using GMP's LiveChat service online, or 101.
