The Saddleworth Village Olympics proved another big success this year
Organisers of the famous Saddleworth Village Olympics have been praised for their efforts in hosting a bonanza entry for this year's event at the new Saddleworth School in Diggle.
Outgoing chair Adrian Green, standing down after 13 years, said: "It has been another amazing games this year.
“We had great support and feedback on social media channels and everyone involved, be that competitors, coaches or volunteers, seem to agree the new venue has worked very well."
He added: "I've been involved in the Olympics in some capacity or other for 13 years, so it's inevitable that next year will feel strange, but I am leaving at a time when the charity is well financed, well organised and has a great team of people who will carry on in my absence.
"That said I will no doubt still pop my head in from time to time."
