Memories are made of this!

Oldham Rugby League Club's Tuesday Club, set up by Joe Warburton, is going from strength to strength.

Anyone and everyone is invited to turn up at Heyside Cricket Club most Tuesdays from 12.30pm to 2.30pm for an informal chat and to watch a big-screen presentation of an Oldham game of yesteryear.

Said Joe: "This weekly get-together is building up nicely.

"Not everyone who comes turns up every week, but we are averaging about ten people each Tuesday and I'm sure that number will grow as we progress.

"Its a nice environment for any Roughyeds man or woman looking for something to do on a Tuesday.

"Anyone can come along. There's nothing to pay.

"All they have to do is turn up and I'm sure there will be someone here they know."

Get-togethers take place on Tuesday afternoons (times above), but the next one isn't until January 10 - the day following the next Players' Association meeting at Springhead Sports and Social Club.

There will be a reminder nearer the time because Roughyeds feel that the weekly gathering at Heyside CC can fill a void if it gets established.

Tales of top tries and glorious games were no doubt re-lived by those present at the latest meeting.

What memories fans can come up with, aided by newspaper cuttings, scrapbooks and old programmes.
