Crews from Chadderton, Hollins and Oldham fire stations attended the incident on Thompson Lane
Firefighters were called out to tackle a blaze in a derelict building in Chadderton last night (Thursday).
Three fire engines attended an incident on Thompson Lane, at the old Chadderton Car and Van Hire site, at 8.08pm last night.
Crews from Chadderton, Hollins and Oldham fire stations attended the fire, which is believed to have been started by youths.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Services said: “It’s an unsecured property that the youth keep setting fire to upstairs.
“We were there last night and the previous night before that.
"Thankfully the fires haven’t been well developed because somebody was walking past, spotted the fire and called us.
“It’s going to happen again because the building either needs securing or demolishing.”
Fifteen firefighters were in attendance, while six extinguished the fire.
