Launched in April this year, the new Regenda Homes Community Fund invited charities, community groups and resident-led organisations to apply for grants of up to £1,000 to support initiatives in Regenda neighbourhoods.

Successful projects in Greater Manchester include:

· Family Action, delivering the Hollinwood Food On Our Doorstep (FOOD) Clubs, provides good-quality food at a low cost while reducing food waste. The fund will allow families in Limehurst, Oldham, to purchase weekly bags of healthy food worth approximately £15 for a small contribution.

· Be Free Campaign, delivering the Be 4 Community Wellbeing Programme, including four-week prevention programmes, therapeutic skills, identity and belonging sessions, youth leadership opportunities, creative wellbeing programmes, peer mentoring and community events for young people aged 11-18 across the North West.

The funding will help these groups to expand their work, reach more people, and create stronger, safer and more connected communities.

Denise Allen, Customer Voice Manager at The Regenda Group, said:

“We launched the Community Fund in response to feedback from our customers, who told us they wanted to see us make a bigger impact in their communities.

“It’s fantastic to see so many organisations in Greater Manchester stepping forward with new ideas or enthusiasm to expand existing projects that will make a real difference to people’s lives. These projects are all about bringing communities together and supporting wellbeing, and we’re proud to play a part in making them happen.”

The Community Fund was shaped with input from Regenda’s Resident Voice Panel, ensuring that funding is directed towards projects that matter most to local people.

A spokesperson from the Be Free Campaign said:

“Funding from Regenda will allow the Be Free Campaign to reach so many more young people with our life-changing early intervention support. The funding is so important in ensuring that our support remains free at the point of access and accessible, and up to 35 young people will be directly supported because of the Regenda Community Fund.”

The fund will also support ten other organisations across Lancashire, Merseyside and Cheshire.
