Taking place the day after World Mental Health Day, WellFest will run from 11am to 3.30pm at Mahdlo Youth Zone, Sir Norman Stoller Way, Oldham.
The event will give people in the community the chance to explore different approaches to wellbeing and find out more about mental health support in the local area.
Activities at WellFest will include yoga, guided meditation sessions, Pilates and free health check MOTs.
Expert-led workshops will cover topics including body positivity and building a ‘coping skills’ toolbox.
The event will also feature games, arts and crafts, sports and a bouncy castle for young people attending.
Representatives from local organisations including Mind, The Crimson Wave, UKeff and Gemma Unsworth Yoga will be in attendance.
WellFest is open to everyone in Oldham and there is no requirement to be a member of Mahdlo Youth Zone to attend.
Young people aged 8 – 19, or up to 25 with additional needs, who attend WellFest will be able to sign up for a free annual Mahdlo membership, giving them access to the charity’s regular sessions and activities happening throughout the year.
Lucy Lees, Chief Executive of Mahdlo Youth Zone, said:
“We are so excited to be hosting WellFest at Mahdlo!
“We really wanted to create a welcoming and positive space where people can come along, try a new activity and find out more about looking after their mental health.
“WellFest will bring together a fantastic mix of local organisations and charities, giving people the chance to find out more about the specialist support available here in Oldham.
“We are looking forward to what promises to be a fantastic event, and a great way to mark World Mental Health Day.”
