As part of a daunting Saddleworth Three Peaks Challenge, the determined teams from St Chad's CE primary school climbed one, two or three of the famous Saddleworth peaks - Pots and Pans, Indian’s Head and Wharmton Hill.
Their aim was to raise £3,000 to complete fundraising for the £11,000 needed to purchase and install the KS2 Trim Trail outdoor play equipment in the school grounds next to the astroturf.
This will support children to be active, creative and learning throughout the school day including their breaks, lunches and after school club.
Stemming from idea by Stephen Henley, one of the school staff, the challenge was organised by St Chad’s Together (PTA).
And Saturday's supreme effort saw them top their earlier £6,700 total on JustGiving, with cash donations still to be added to the total.
