Dale Harris returns to Chadderton FC as CEO

Date published: 06 August 2025

Chadderton Football Club has announced the appointment of Dale Harris as its new Chief Executive Officer, marking a bold and ambitious step forward for the club both on and off the pitch.

This significant appointment follows a transformational £1 million investment into the club’s facilities, signalling a new era of progress and professionalism at Chadderton FC.

Dale joins the Club from Latics, where he served as Head of Commercial and Business Development Management during a historic 2024/25 season.

Dale formed part of the Senior Management team as the club successfully returned to the EFL, following their first promotion in over 30 years with a remarkable play off campaign.

However, Dale is no stranger to the Chadderton FC family.

Having previously served as Head of Commercial at Chadderton FC during the Club’s inaugural season in the North West Counties Premier Division, his passion and strategic insight were well recognised and helped progress the club forward.

Chairman Bob Sopel said: "We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Dale back to Chadderton in this new role.

"His experience, energy and deep connection to both the town and the club make him the perfect person to lead us into this exciting new phase."

"When he was here previously, the impact he had was clear to see, we wish we could have kept hold of him then. However, he went on to do great things with Oldham, just look at the season they went on to have."

"But I think it shows our ambition to bring him back to the Club.

"We have these wonderful new facilities and it’s just the start for us.”

Dale added: “Most people know how much the town and its football teams mean to me.

"The last 12 months at Oldham Athletic have been incredible, the promotion, the way we did it, it really was pinch-me stuff at times.”

“But when the opportunity came up to come back and drive Chadderton forward, and I discussed my wife, the opportunity to have a real impact and that really excited me.

"It made sense for me, my family, and my career at this stage.”

“I’ve learnt so much during my time at Oldham that will serve me well here. And what a time to be joining Chadderton.

"The transformation over the past year has been unbelievable.

"Bob, Glynn and the team have done incredible work off the pitch, while Carl and Ben are building something special on it.

"It’s that ‘overnight success’ that’s actually been years in the making.”

“The foundations are now firmly in place to build something truly lasting.

"I’m incredibly proud to lead the club into this new era.”

Dale will officially begin his role as of September 1.

Supporters, members, and the local community are invited to be part of the journey whether through volunteering, membership, or by simply grabbing a ticket and experiencing everything Chadderton FC has to offer in this exciting new era.
