Greater Manchester Police officers secured three arrests and seized multiple off-road and electric bikes from a property yesterday (Tuesday) following an Operation Vulcan warrant.
The work occurred on Whetstone Hill Lane, as part of Vulcan’s deployment in Derker and the wider Oldham area.
Operation Vulcan recently marked six months of action in Derker, which has seen more than 160 arrests and tens of thousands of pounds of drugs seized.
Yesterday’s action forms part of Vulcan’s commitment to tackling drugs supply and resulting issues in the community.
Two men – aged 20 and 22 – and a boy, aged 16, were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.
All remain in custody for questioning and enquiries are ongoing.
A number of suspected Class A drugs and related paraphernalia were recovered during initial searches of the house, while a search of the backyard found multiple types of bikes.
In total, a dozen bikes were seized – including three quad-bikes, multiple pedal and off-road bikes, and e-scooters.
Several are suspected of being stolen and further work will be carried out in due course.
Detective Inspector Lee Newburn, from the Operation Vulcan team, said: “Vulcan’s work has seen more than 160 arrests over the last six months but we are not slowing down – every week we are out tackling crime, investigating reports, and getting people into custody.
“Yesterday’s work recovered in multiple successes: off-road and quad bike seized, dangerous drugs recovered, and three people arrested on suspicion of being involved in criminality.
“If you have any issues within your area of Derker, or have any information you’d like to pass onto us, please do so – we investigate all reports that come in to our team.”
