The proud family of colourful local musician Gilbert Symes shared a unique Remembrance celebration.
From left to right (above), Matthew (22 years), Ian (25 years) and Steven (23 years) all served those years in the forces.
Said Gilbert: "Steven is wearing my dad's (his grandfather's) medals Harold Symes royal marine commando 11413.
“My dad never claimed them after the war but I claimed them in 1982.
“So this year 80 years after he was awarded them was the first time they were on parade.
"That brought a tear to my eye, 68 years of service between them…”
And hundreds saw them play and read the declaration in Uppermill.
