A red and white tide will sweep Saddleworth on Saturday when generous-spirited Saddleworth Round Table host this year's legendary Santa Dash.

The latest event could attract 3,000 fun-loving entrants to take part in the 2km or 5km fun run.

It will launch on Saturday, December 6 from King George V playing fields, Uppermill, and the circuit goes to Greenfield before returning to Uppermill.

Tickets cost £20 per adult (including a suit, number and medal) and £8 per child (including a hat, number and medal).

The day begins at midday with market stalls and festive entertainment on stage, with refreshments stalls.

After the Dash there will be prize presentations and presentations on stage, followed by village’s Winter Wonderland event, including the Santa parade and lights switch-on from 4pm, then ending with a fireworks display.

And this year, Round Table has teamed up with Saddleworth Tractor Group, who had to cancel their annual Christmas Eve Tractor Parade because of safety issues over its growing size.

Now, after the Santa Dash sets off, ten vintage tractors will parade down Uppermill High Street to Saddleworth Museum car park, where they will remain on display during the afternoon.

And Round Table has teamed up with My Community Wardrobe, based in Lees, which provides clothing and other items for local families in need.

The Dash next pre-registration date is Wednesday 3rd (5.30pm - 7.30pm) at the Garage, Saddleworth Business Centre, Delph, OL3 5DH.
