The event hosted last Friday included performances from contributors, live DJ, food stalls, henna painting and an interactive panel with local artists.
Ayman J Sabir, of Oldham, founded the creative magazine Samajh My Gal (understand my point) to celebrate dual-heritage South Asian creatives across the UK.
Following on from the success of the introductory issue earlier this year, Ayman worked alongside creative writing development organisation Cultureword to advertise, edit and publish the latest edition ‘Almost Ours’.
The magazine theme focused on the feeling of belonging and nostalgia for culture inherited from past generations.
Artists used this theme as a springboard to create poems, reflections, paintings and much more to include in the magazine.
The new and previous edition will be available in print and online and can be purchased via the SamajhMyGal website with daily updates on Instagram and Tiktok.
