Is the top heating installer right here in Oldham?

Date published: 02 October 2018

The industry famous Heating Installer Awards has returned for a fourth year, in a bid to once again ensure that the best heating installer in the North West is recognised and celebrated.

The scheme is calling on tradespeople in the North West who go above and beyond for their customers to share their stories, with particular standout schemes and examples of stellar service given a chance to shine.

Open for entries from the beginning of October, the awards will provide a platform to showcase outstanding work within the plumbing and heating sectors.

Sponsored by Danfoss, Geberit, Glow-worm and Polypipe, and associated with respected trade publication, Installer magazine, the awards has become a much-anticipated event in the industry calendar since being established four years ago.

Offering some money-can’t-buy prizes to the winner, this year sees an additional element added to the judging process to ensure the very best entrant wins.

After regional entries close in February, an expert judging panel made up of industry professionals will decide a winner from each of the 11 regions, who will then be put forward to the final round and be in with a chance of being crowned the national winner.

The judges’ scores for the finalists will be carried forward to the next round, which for the first time, will also include a peer-reviewed, response-to-scenario technical challenge.

The finalists’ scores for this, together with the public vote and judges’ scores, will decide the national winner.

The lucky winner will be announced at Installer2019, where 2018 champion, Shaun Scott, from Scotland, will hand over his crown.

The response-to-scenario challenge has been introduced to this year’s contest following industry feedback, and will be set by Shaun, of Derek Scott Plumbing and Heating.

He will also judge the responses, along with 2017 winner, Peter Booth, and 2016’s champion, Dennis Hollingworth.

Commenting on the highly anticipated awards, Shaun said: “The Heating Installer Awards is a great way to acknowledge and unite the champions of the industry.

"The industry is thriving and it’s fantastic to have an event that supports that and brings us together.

“I’m still absolutely thrilled to have won last year, and whilst I’ll be disappointed to pass on the crown, I’m excited to see what everyone has been doing over the past year and to see the brilliant entries that are sure to be submitted.”

Entries for this year are now open.
