Mossley succumbed to a 4-1 home defeat at the hands of Ossett Albion in a frustrating contest at Seel Park.
Despite taking an early lead through a penalty from skipper Tom Dean, the Lilywhites suffered their fourth straight defeat as a hat-trick from Adam Priestley, along with a solitary strike from Aiden Chippendale, ensured the visitors ran out deserved winners.
Peter Band and Lloyd Morrison’s side now lie 18th in the Evo-Stik North table, though they do have the chance to return to winning ways when they travel to Colne tomorrow night. Kick-off is at 7:45pm at the Utility Renewals Stadium.
Things have been far more positive for Mossley off the field as the club recently announced they have reached their first fundraising target.
Over £2,000 has been raised towards driveway resurfacing work at the ground.
Elsewhere, Chadderton dropped two points as Alsager Town twice came from behind to snatch a point in the Hallmark Security League First Division.
David Fish’s side took the lead as Jack Snape’s long-range effort cannoned off the upright before rebounding off Alsager goalkeeper James Coates and over the goal-line.
Chaddy regained their lead, but with a significant consequence. Striker Leon Iluobe was grounded due to a serious injury causing everyone but Ryan Shenton to stop - the full-back subsequently headed into the empty goal in what would proved to be a controversial effort.
Alsager responded and secured a point when Dave Harry struck in the 65th minute at Wood Park.
Chaddy remain 17th in the league table, ten points clear of the drop zone.
Avro are now three wins away from securing the Manchester Football League Premier Division title after triumphing 5-2 at Walshaw Sports.
Charlie Fuller and Matthew Landregan secured a brace apiece, while a Walshaw player also scored an own goal as the Blues maintain their remarkable unbeaten league record.
