Lions roar to huge win against Brandlesholme

Chadderton Park under-14s Lions went three points clear at the top of the North Bury League Premiership thanks to an outstanding 12-0 win at home to Brandlesholme Warriors Panthers.
Dalton Martins opened the scoring with a cracking effort, and Charlie Sarsfield added a second with a screamer of a goal.
Cheered on by a freezing crowd, early chances went begging and the Brandlesholme goalkeeper played well, but Antonios Koiloropoulos added a third goal before half time.
With the wind at their backs, the Lions tore through the opposition in the second half, with further goals from both Koiloropoulos and Martins sending the Lions five clear.
Amen Emmanuel made it 6-0 with a well-struck shot.
Lawrence Arthur, who was having a great game, made it 7-0 with a well-taken goal and this was followed with Lewis North scoring a quickfire brace to make it 9-0.
A second goal from Arthur made it 10-0, before Matthew Cooper grabbed a deserved goal.
Martins completed his hat-trick to make the final score 12-0.
Meanwhile, Park’s under-12s Cobras secured a credible 1-1 draw away at Roach Dynamos Black on a wet and very cold windy morning.
The Cobras went behind following a bit of a mix up at the back, but they battled hard and got back in the game with a powerful penalty finish from Jac Smith.
Park’s under-17s Eagles suffered back-to-back defeats against Brendon Bees on a Saturday morning double header in the Tameside League.
Kade May and an own goal registered for the Eagles as the first game ended 4-2 to Bees.
The second match was much tougher, however, as the Bees ran out 6-0 winners.
