Four boxers from the Isaan Gym in Derker did themselves proud in Yokkoa Next Generation fights at the Barnsley Metrodome, with a personal best effort from Leah Ellaby.
The club came home with mixed results of one win and three losses from the Thai boxing event in Yorkshire.
However, Isaan Gym head coach Ste Donnelly is taking the positives.
“It was always going to be a tough day for our boxers,” he said.
“However, it's not always about the win; it's about the performance.
"I'm absolutely over the moon with the performances of my boxers.”
Leah, aged 13, put on her best performance to date against local fighter Aliya from Knuckles Muay Thai.
Scoring well with push kicks and body kicks, Leah’s brilliant control of the fight led her to victory on the day.
“There's lots to work on in the gym for my lot, but I'm a very happy coach,” said Donnelly.
Isaan Gym is based on Temple Street and has classes to suit all ages and levels.
