Could there be more transfer activity on the way for Oldham?

Oldham Athletic could still be in the market for more players – despite ELEVEN new arrivals this summer already.

Former Manchester City striker Ishmael Miller became the latest new face at Boundary Park, joining on a one-year deal on Thursday.

He follows the signings of Sam Surridge, Chris O’Grady, Jonathan Benteke, Daniel Iversen, Andy Taylor, Giles Coke, Christopher Missilou, Sam Graham, Johan Branger-Engone, and the return of Jose Baxter.

Manager Frankie Bunn says he’s happy with the business done so far, but can not rule out more late deals.

He said: “There might be one or two more if we can, we keep pushing for that.

“But the squad seems quite settled. We added a few this week, which has bolstered the numbers, so there may be one or two.”

The transfer window closes earlier this season, with all deals needing to be completed by Thursday.

Bunn added: “Everyone has to get the business done early and what we’ve found, especially with the loan players, is that the players that we’ve wanted have been with their first team parent clubs.

“They’re in and around them [squads] because the Premier League boys have been on international duty.

“So the better younger players are with their first team squads.

“It’s like a game of poker and something you could miss out on.”

Latics’ season kicks off against MK Dons against Boundary Park at 3pm on Saturday.
