Moorside ace Ash Beech was back in action again at Cadwell Park after missing the previous two rounds of the National Superstock 1000 Championship.

Beech's new Suzuki GSX-R1000 bike arrived last Wednesday after having racing electronics and an exhaust system fitted by the factory-supported British Superbike Team at Buildbase Suzuki.

This left Beech and his team one day to fit new suspension, forks and brakes before arriving at the circuit.

In the first of two practice sessions, Beech put in some consistent lap times and with a few minor changes to the geometry of the bike he improved his lap time by over two seconds in the second session.

Just minor changes before qualifying and again his lap time improved to finish 16th quickest and a start from row six on the grid.

Beech started well, but towards the end of the first lap he was struggling to stop the bike going into corners and after just two laps he was forced to retire when his brakes failed.

To continue would have been dangerous to himself and other riders.

"Brake fade can happen on any bike and at any time so I'm disappointed," said Beech.

"But the new Suzuki feels good and with a three-week break until the next round I will take the opportunity to do some testing.

"It is too late in the season to challenge for the Championship, but with four races left this year the target is to get the bike sorted and ready at the start of the 2019 season."

Beech will be back out on track on September 9 at Silverstone.
