So far this season Oldham Athletic have only tasted defeat twice in the league and both have been in front of their own fans at Boundary Park.
Now manager Frankie Bunn has challenged his players to take that away form and bring it to their home games starting against Colchester United on Saturday.
Victory would give them an added boost by helping them leapfrog over their visitors and also move them deeper into the playoff picture despite the season only being a few weeks old.
However, Colchester will arrive at Boundary Park nursing an unbeaten record of their own having not lost on their travels so far this campaign, including hammering Crewe Alexandra 6-0 back in August.
The last time these two sides met in the North West was back in 2016, ending in a 1-1 draw, however Latics are looking to snap a 12-year run where they haven’t beaten United at home since a 1-0 win back in March 2006.
Oldham manager Frankie Bunn said: “We’ve got to be a bit more positive in front of goal, certainly at home.
“We’ve taken our chances away from home when they arise and we ride out storms. We’ve just got to figure out a way of breaking people down.
“That’ll come – like I said, we’re not the finished article and we will get better.
“Colchester are a footballing team. They’re well organised and it should be an entertaining game.”
