Oldham Hockey round-up
Oldham Ladies’ first team drew 2-2 away at Didsbury Northern in the North Hockey Women's League Division Two South West.
Oldham deservedly went into half time 2-0 up thanks to goals from Louise Howard-Sandy and Karen Rowley.
The second half saw Oldham continue their domination with a total of 16 short corners in the match and close chances missed.
Player of the match Ashleigh Wilson impressed down the right wing, but Didsbury scored two on the counter attack, meaning spoils were shared.
Oldham’s second team defeated Urmston 4-2 in Greater Manchester Division One.
Donna Tindall was key to the defence and received player of the match.
Goals came from Ashleigh Hoyle, Yvonne Jackson, Laura Rice and captain Lisa Staniland
Oldham thirds lost 3-1 against Stockport Bramall in Greater Manchester Division Three.
Captain Karen Lord got the cancellation goal and, despite the loss, walked off the pitch happy with her team's performance.
Meanwhile, Oldham’s mixed team played a 7s tournament, drawing one game and losing two. Despite the results there was some positive performances, especially from Daisy Shepherdson who did well defending from the front.
