GOLF ROUND-UP: Oldham Golf Club’s ever-busy GEMS (Gentlemen Elderly Members) enjoyed a BB Stableford, and none more than John Waterhouse and Paul Street, who won with 24.

It left them one clear of Keith Cowell and Peter Schofield, who won a cpo from Phil Best and Barry Cotton, with Pat Greene and Gordon Howard and Brian Best and Ken Lunn both on 22.

A Stableford at Saddleworth saw Steve ‘Majestic’ Moores top division one with 42 from Darren Smith 41.

Kenny Clements led in division two with 43, from Kevin Rafferty 40.

A pro’s BB Medal at Saddleworth needed a cpo on 61 in division one to take Paul Black and Gary Banks across the line from Ian Charnock and Graham Hall.

Steve Lowe and Stu Hanson were out on their own in division two with 56 from Darren Smith and Dave Arnold 59.

A BB Stableford at Saddleworth was a family affair in division one with Dean and Dave McKenna posting 47, one more than Mark Orme and Richard Cotton.

It was closer in division two with Steve Dawson and David Green winning a cpo on 48 from Chris Cunniffe and Darren Smith.

Ashton Seniors played a Four Man Am Am Stableford and it was a close contest.

Leading in with 92 were D Kennett, C Ventress, A Kiami and V Mills.

Just a point off their hot pace were D Dobie, K Jones, R Jackson and J McGhie and G Allen, G Davies, D Denny and S Shields.

A BB Stableford at Ashton had C Cole and N Boote in firm control with 51 from J Beresford and Zi Seddon, R Nuttall and D Wilson, A Lilley and D Bacon, R Payne and S Gregg and B Fegan and C Buckley, all 47.

The Stamford Captain’s Drive-in BB Stableford saw R Sidebottom and S Hardy first past the post with 40, from J and A Healey 39 and S Reynolds and M Bridge, J Kershaw and D Hough and club legend Steve Finan and L Williams, all 38.
