Dr Kershaws' delight at Crane PI support

Date published: 16 July 2018

Royton business Crane Payment Innovation is a major success story for the borough – and Dr Kershaw’s Hospice is reaping the rewards.

The former Coin Controls business, which became part of the giant American-run Crane group of companies in 2010, has grown significantly to over 384 employees and a £64million turnover.

The Crane Widows and Children’s Fund is a major charitable arm of the Stamford, New York organisation, and it distributes donations across the globe.

So Alison Ridgard, HR director at the Delta Mill site that is set to expand again after taking on the production of its sister site in Hamburg, was delighted to go to the Hospice to meet Chief Executive Joanne Sloan and Clinical Matron Adele Doherty to hand over a cheque for $15,000 (approximately £11,300).

And the amazing news for the Hospice is that a further donation could well be on the way as Alison has already made an application for an additional grant from the fund.

Joanne and a delegation of nurses now plan to visit to Delta Mill operation to personally thank the Crane PI team for their generosity and to give them an insight into the significant impact that their fantastic donations makes to the lives of the people served by the Hospice nurses.

Joanne said: “Crane PI are an amazing success story right here in Royton and we are delighted that they have a relationship with the Hospice that we can build on.

"We also want to understand how they have changed their culture whilst still retaining the very essence of what they are about."
