Rams test awaits Athletic

Athletic will host Derby in the Carabao Cup first round in August

Athletic will host Championship side Derby County in the first round of the Carabao Cup.

The game will take place during the week commencing August 13.

The draw was made this morning (Friday), at 10:45 BST in Ho Chi Minh City, the home of the competition's Thai sponsors.

The Rams, who are now managed by ex-England star Frank Lampard, just missed out on promotion back the Premier League last season as they were beaten by Fulham in the play-off semi-finals.

The two teams met at the same stage of the competition in the 2013/14 season, when Derby won 1-0 at Boundary Park.

All details regarding the forthcoming tie will be announced in due course.
