Latics see off Crawley Town with a 2 -1 win

Mohammed Maouche netted a second-half winner as Oldham came from a goal down to see off Crawley Town.

The French midfielder finished off a neat team move in the 58th minute, accepting substitute Scott Wilson's well-weighted pass to side-foot home from 12 yards and ease the hosts' relegation worries.

Maouche's strike arrived nine minutes after home skipper David Wheater had powered home a headed equaliser from Jonny Smith's corner, as the hosts came out strongly at the start of the second half.

Home forward Desire Segbe Azankpo had wasted a great chance in the 11th minute, hesitating after being set clear on goal by Chris McCann's astute pass before being tackled.

Crawley responded when Lewis Young danced his way infield unchallenged from the right flank on 17 minutes, slotting a neat left-footed shot home.

Azankpo headed wide when well-placed before half-time and though Oldham turned the contest around, Crawley's Tarryn Allarakhia was unlucky to see his left-footed drive from a narrow angle deflect off the far post as his side chased a leveller.
