Former Latics defender Neale dies

Peter Neale began his career at Latics, where he played between 1955 and 1959
Peter Neale, a defender who played more than 100 games for Latics in the late 1950s, has passed away at the age of 88.
Born in Bolsover, Neale began his career at Latics, where he played between 1955 and 1959, scoring an impressive 28 goals in 117 appearances.
Neale then played for Scunthorpe United between 1959 and 1966, which included the Iron's halcyon days in the old Second Division.
The central defender made 245 Scunthorpe appearances in all competitions, scoring eight times.
He later played for Chesterfield and Scarborough.
