Bumper travelling army will be hoping for Latics response at Halifax

Date published: 28 October 2022

Well in excess of 2,000 travelling fans will be backing Latics tomorrow when they head to The Shay to take on FC Halifax Town in a BT Sport televised National League clash.

Those amazing Latics supporters will certainly be seeking a better performance from their team than the one they put in at Altrincham on Tuesday when they lost 1-0.

Boss David Unsworth later described the performance as 'indefensible'.

He added: "These players are working as hard as they can, I just don't think they know how to win consistently."

Latics currently sit in 18th place in the table, a point and a place better off than Hailfax, who have also endured a tricky start to this season under Chris Millington.

Latics are still looking to secure their first away win of the campaign.

This will be the first time Latics have met Halifax since a 1-0 FA Cup victory at The Shay back in January, 1974.

BREAKING: It was announced at 5pm today (Friday) that striker Timmy Abraham has completed a move to Latics on loan until January 1.

The 21-year-old, who can also operate as a wide player, arrives at Boundary Park from Walsall, a club he joined in the summer after three years at Fulham.

Abraham, the brother of England striker Tammy, has recently had loans at clubs including Bristol Rovers and Newport.
