Eric's final farewell

          Former Oldham player and coach Eric Fitzsimons died in a Rochdale nursing home
The funeral service for the late former Oldham player and coach Eric Fitzsimons will be at St Patrick's RC Church, Oldham, on Tuesday, June 26 at 10.15am.
Eric, who was also well known in the town as a teacher at Failsworth High and for his work with the Oldham Schools' RL, used to be an altar boy at St Pat's.
After the service at St Pat's it will be down to Oldham Crematorium and then back to Oldham RUFC at Manor Park, a club with which Eric also had close associations.

Before taking up rugby league and playing for Oldham and Hunslet, Eric played football for Bury, Oldham Athletic, Hyde United and Bradford Park Avenue.
He died in a Rochdale nursing home, aged 69, after battling dementia for several years.
