Ambitious Roughyeds say they will have a hugely competitive tier-two squad in 2021
Oldham Rugby League Club has confirmed that Dan Abram has signed a new one-year contract to extend his stay at the club where his dad, Darren, was a free-scoring centre nearly 30 years ago.
Utility back Abram, who plays full-back or half-back, has previously played for St Helens, Barrow Raiders, Whitehaven and Rochdale Hornets.
Oldham became his fifth club last autumn and although this 2020 season was curtailed in March because of the pandemic, Abram (24) saw enough of the club and coach Matt Diskin's leadership to be keen to stay.
He said: "I think we'll do well next year. The first few games of last season were a steep learning curve. We need to step up our game, but we'll certainly have a real dig."
Head coach Diskin said: "Dan is a talented kid. Competition for places will bring out the best in him. He has loads of potential and I'm delighted to have him on board again."
