Roughyeds convincingly defeated Midlands Hurricanes in Birmingham
Oldham RLFC kept up the pressure on the top two teams in Betfred League One with a 50-16 second-half hammering of Midlands Hurricanes in Birmingham.
Roughyeds, below par in the first half, were fortunate to go in for half-time at 12-12, but they took complete command afterwards to score seven tries to one in the second half and finish comfortable winners.
Captain and stand-off Martyn Ridyard scored two tries and kicked seven goals for 22 points, while Deane Meadows, Patrick Ah Van (2), George Hirst, Jordan Paga, Kian Morgan and Dom Newton also scored Oldham tries.
New loan signing Samy Kibula, a big forward, made his debut off the bench and did enough to see Roughyeds take a firm grip on the game after a shaky start.
