Moran is the 16th player to commit to Roughyeds for 2024
Pat Moran (25), the former Widnes Vikings and Newcastle Thunder forward, has signed a new two-year deal for go-ahead Oldham, who first signed Irish international Moran last May from French club Sporting Olympique Avignon of France’s Elite One Championship.
He is the 16th player to commit to Roughyeds for 2024, eight of whom (Jordan Turner, Joe Wardle, Mo Agoro, Brad Gallagher, Jay Chapelhow, Jack Johnson, Ben O’Keefe, and Danny Craven) are new signings on two-year contracts.
They join former Super League players Josh Johnson and Jamie Ellis and experienced Championship men Nick Rawsthorne and Pat Moran,
“Recruitment is going well,” said managing director Mike Ford (57), the Oldham-born former Roughyeds and Great Britain scrum-half star, who will oversee the club’s move next season to the town’s soccer ground at Boundary Park where the local council has funded a new £1m state-of-the-art pitch.
