THEIR mission - and they chose to accept it - was to survive a fun and challenging day in the pursuit of badge glory.
Oldham Brownies were among more than 300 youngsters who gathered at Ashworth Valley, in Rochdale, for the Brownies Mission Survive.
Faced with physically and mentally testing tasks, they found themselves tackling narrow tunnels, high ropes and soft archery in a bid to achieve the Brownie Mission Survive badge and bag.
Rosa Curran (7) said she enjoyed the low ropes course, adding: "I slipped off a few times at the start but then I got my balance. I had a really good time."
Event co-ordinator Michelle Wood said "It's been a tough few months planning for Brownies Mission Survive.
"Arranging such a variety of activities for so many young girls has been tiring work, but seeing these girls have so much fun has made it worthwhile."
County Commissioner Lynne Scales said "These events really get into the spirit of girl-guiding.
"It's delightful to see brownies, who have likely never met each other, jumping into tasks and working together so well.
"Michelle and her team have done a fantastic job and should be very proud."
