STAFF and children from Burnley Brow School welcomed a special guest from California.
Dr Spencer Kagan visited the Chadderton school to see the impact his Cooperative Learning techniques are having on lessons at the school.
Staff members Nicola Malone and Katie Bradley attended a Kagan Summer Academy in Florida to learn about Cooperative Learning and have been successfully using the scheme throughout the school.
All children from nursery to Year 6 are developing their ability to work cooperatively through using Mr Kagan’s techniques.
They are used across the curriculum to promote interdependence, individual accountability, equal participation and interaction.
Head teacher Michelle Lee said: “The children are enjoying working together. The structures make the lessons more interactive and allow the children to reflect together on their learning.”
